Enhance your workplace safety and compliance with the Clermont County Safety Council, a key monthly event hosted by the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation. 

Held on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:30 am, this series offers a valuable platform for learning, networking, and discussing critical safety topics relevant to today’s work environments.

August Meeting

Join the Clermont Chamber Safety Council for an insightful program on Return to Work 2.0, an innovative approach to helping injured employees safely and successfully return to the workplace.

This session will explore how virtual assessments, objective physical capability evaluations, and early intervention strategies can improve return-to-work outcomes, reduce employer risk, and strengthen overall workplace safety programs. Attendees will gain practical insights into developing effective return-to-work policies, supporting employee recovery, and creating safer, more productive workplaces.

Training provided by:

  • Dr. Scott Short, MD is a dual board-certified occupational medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience treating workplace injuries. A nationally recognized expert in return-to-work strategies, he has helped employers improve outcomes, reduce workers' compensation costs, and implement best practices in occupational health.

  • Scott Uhlenhake, PT has more than 30 years of experience in industrial rehabilitation and serves as Rehab Director for orthopedic and industrial rehabilitation services in west-central Ohio. A State of Ohio Certified Transitional Work Program Developer, he specializes in functional capacity evaluations, ergonomics, transitional work programs, and workplace injury prevention.

Eligibility and Enrollment

  • The enrollment deadline to ensure eligibility for the 3% rebate through the Ohio Safety Council program is September 30, 2026. Enrollment is open year-round, but to qualify for the 3% rebate, employers must complete the full, ten-credit program requirements between July 1 and June 30 of the program year. 2026-2027 Enrollment Form
  • Enrollment is open to all state fund employers with an active BWC policy and active coverage.
  • Even without earning the rebate, participation provides significant educational value.
  • Employers who enroll after September 30 may attend Safety Council meetings and activities but will not qualify for the rebate for the FY27 program year.

Rebate Qualification Requirements
To receive the 3% rebate, employers must earn ten credits by participating in any combination of the following:

  • Monthly safety council meetings (with your enrolled council)
  • External training sessions (one credit per training session, two credit maximum):
    • BWC in-person training
    • In-person training by approved external providers
    • The Ohio Safety Congress & Expo® (OSC®)
  • Completion of a BWC onsite consultation with a Field Safety Service Consultant (two credit maximum; limited to once every three years)

Please only register and pay ONE TIME for your annual membership. Recurring registrations are not required on a monthly basis for this event. There will be a sign-in sheet available in person at each meeting.  

Annual Safety Council Participation Rates: 
- Chamber members: $50 
- Non-Chamber members: $200
- One time attendance: Available per session at $10 for chamber members and $25 for non-members.
