2026 Ground Breaking: Veterans Village

Tuesday, June 30, 2026 (9:30 AM - 10:30 AM) (EDT)

Description

Join the Clermont Chamber of Commerce as we celebrate Clermont Metropolitan Housing Authority’s (CMHA) groundbreaking of Veterans Village, a transformative new housing development dedicated to serving veterans in our community.

Veterans Village is a thoughtfully designed residential community that will provide safe, affordable, and supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness or those at risk of becoming homeless. Situated on more than 15 acres, the development will feature 19 multifamily housing units, including 16 one-bedroom units and 3 two-bedroom units, designed to accommodate both individuals and small families.

In addition to quality housing, the village will include a community clubhouse and ample green space, creating opportunities for connection, support, and engagement among residents. The development will serve veterans who are currently unhoused, living in inadequate housing conditions, or residing in homes that do not meet their accessibility needs.

All residences will meet Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and will be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified, ensuring energy-efficient, environmentally responsible, and comfortable living spaces.

The Village is a true example of collaboration. CMHA is not only the owner of the property but will also be responsible for onsite property management. The Veterans Administration (VA) will create a case management plan for each of the veterans at the Village. By project-basing some of CMHA’s HUD-VASH vouchers the Village will have an initial 20-year affordability commitment, ensuring long-term housing stability and accessibility for veterans throughout the region.

We invite community members, partners, veterans and residents to join CMHA as they break ground on this important project and take a significant step toward expanding housing opportunities and support services for those who have served our country.
