William Glenny founded the Wm. Glenny Company in 1851 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Glenny established exclusive distribution rights for European manufacturers of window glass, small mirrors and small special polished plate glass for all territories west of the Allegheny Mountains. Glenny distributed glass throughout the region using custom built, horse drawn delivery wagons. Soon after this, in association with Captain John Ford, the Company began marketing the first plate glass manufactured in the United States. The company currently fabricates and distributes over 4,000,000 sq. ft. per year of tempered, insulated and laminated glass to over 300 glass shops, commercial glazers and window manufacturers in a five-state area.

Purchased by Rufus Smith and his son Braxton Smith in 1989, the business philosophies set forth by William Glenny of integrity, innovation and customer service remain priorities to this day. In 2021, the next generation of Smiths, twin brothers, Braxton II and Joseph joined their father at Glenny to guide the company forward. The brothers are VP of Administration and VP of Operations, respectively.

Today, Glenny Glass operates from a 107,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Milford, Ohio, featuring advanced fabrication technology, automated insulating glass lines, CNC cutting and polishing equipment, tempering furnaces, and a dedicated Decorative Glass Division. With more than 110 employees and nearly two centuries of expertise, the company continues to lead the industry through innovation while staying true to its customer-first values.
