Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, contempt actions, and post-decree proceedings.
- Conduct client consultations and provide legal advice with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, settlement agreements, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
- Prepare for and attend hearings, mediations, status conferences, and trials.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in contested matters.
- Manage an active caseload while maintaining deadlines, court requirements, and client communications.
- Collaborate with the firm's other members to ensure efficient case management and exceptional client service.
- Maintain accurate case records and documentation using the firm's case management system, 8am/MyCase.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio, or awaiting admission.
- Family law experience is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to manage an active caseload while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and client service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn 8am/MyCase case management software.
Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 A.M – 4:00 P.M; In-person, occasional flexible remote work permitted subject to prior approval.
Benefits and Compensation: Base Salary: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
Bonus Structure: Uncapped bonus based on a tiered 20%/25%/30% fee split of collected fees attributable to the attorney's work, paid quarterly.
