Union Township, Clermont County Ohio (July 2, 2025) – The Clermont Chamber of Commerce Foundation is proud to announce John A. Melvin as the 2025 recipient of the LEAD From the Heart Award, the highest recognition bestowed upon a graduate of the LEAD Clermont Community Leadership Program.

This annual award honors a LEAD Clermont alumnus whose legacy of service, community leadership, mentorship, and civic engagement exemplifies the spirit and mission of the LEAD Clermont program. Introduced in 2024 and first awarded to longtime LEAD Clermont Program Director Bob Pautke, the honor celebrates those whose leadership leaves a lasting impact on Clermont County.

John Melvin's contributions to the Clermont County community are unparalleled. A founding member of the LEAD Clermont program, John has remained a steadfast advocate and advisor for over three decades. His visionary leadership as Chairman of the Clermont 2001 initiative rallied more than 275 community stakeholders in an ambitious effort to assess community values, identify pressing challenges, and develop strategic recommendations to guide Clermont County’s future.

Under his guidance, the Clermont 2001 agenda was created—an enduring framework built on four core pillars: developing a sense of community, stimulating leadership, supporting funding, and establishing clear communication structures. John's belief in accountable leadership, volunteerism, and the power of recognition has helped shape the county’s civic fabric and inspired countless others to serve.

In addition to his work with Clermont 2001, John's legacy of service includes:

• Former Interim President of the Clermont Chamber of Commerce
• Former Director of the Chamber’s Small Business Development Center (15 years)
• Founder and 10-year leader of the KLiCWow literacy project

John Melvin will be formally recognized at the LEAD Clermont Alumni Annual Meeting + Grill Out on Thursday, August 7, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Alumni, supporters, and community members are encouraged to attend this celebratory event.Tickets are on sale now here.
